Bogotá Authorities Deploy Public and Private Health Networks to Treat Earthquake Victims

The District Health Department of Bogotá has activated a coordinated response between public and private health networks to treat patients injured by the recent earthquake in southwestern Colombia. José Vicente Guzmán, director (e) of the Emergency Services Department in Health, confirmed that the capital has already received 17 patients, with four successfully admitted into the city's healthcare network. An additional 12 patients from the Buenaventura district are expected to be transferred to the capital for specialized care. To support the recovery efforts, the administration announced that the city's infrastructure remains on maximum alert to serve the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. Simultaneously, the 18 Plaza District Markets and nine SuperCADE locations have been established as primary collection points for donations. These sites are collecting personal hygiene kits, habitat kits, and food products to support vulnerable populations in Risaralda, Quindío, Valle del Cauca, and Chocó. The Palacio de los Deportes serves as the primary designated point for aid, receiving donations from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
