Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá (EAAB) schedules water cuts for August 18-20, 2026

The Empresa de Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá (EAAB) announced that water cuts will occur between August 18 and August 20, 2026, to facilitate maintenance and repair work on the city's distribution network. These interventions aim to minimize damage to pipes and accessories while ensuring a long-term, continuous supply for millions of homes and commercial establishments. Specific neighborhoods in Kennedy, San Cristóbal, and Rafael Uribe Uribe will experience suspensions starting Tuesday, August 18. For instance, the Pastrana neighborhood in Kennedy will lose service for 24 hours starting at 10:00 a.m. due to a third-party closure. Other areas, including Alsacia and El Vergel, will undergo preventive maintenance for 24 hours. In Soacha and Gachancipá, various sectors will also face cuts on Wednesday, August 19. The EAAB recommends that residents fill their water tanks before the scheduled cuts and use the resource rationally, prioritizing hand-washing and food preparation. Emergency water tanks will be available for hospitals and clinics via the Acualínea 116.
