Henry Bendon reports that Sound Transit is implementing major service changes to the regional bus network.

Henry Bendon, a public information officer for Sound Transit, announced that over a dozen Express bus routes have undergone significant service changes to better align with the regional light rail expansion. The agency added two new night bus routes between Redmond and Seattle and Lakewood and Seattle, while eliminating six routes entirely. These changes are intended to make it easier for riders to access the light rail system, which currently carries 150,000 daily users. Bendon noted that the new network aims to deploy resources more effectively to move as many people as possible. While some riders like Ernest Frank expressed the need to adjust to new commute times, others like Kei Sugiyama and Jalen Conway noted the increased convenience of the light rail system. Additionally, King County Metro is rolling out its largest service expansion in recent years, adding nine new bus routes and over 3,000 additional weekly trips across the county.
