Aon is approaching an agreement to acquire USI Insurance for approximately $17 billion.
Aon is nearing a final agreement to purchase USI Insurance in a transaction valued at roughly $17 billion, including debt. The potential acquisition, which could be announced as early as Monday, would significantly expand theon global broker's presence among midsize corporate clients. USI Insurance generates approximately $3 billion in annual revenue and provides insurance brokerage and consulting services to companies and individuals. For Aon, the deal represents a strategic move to deepen its position in the middle-market insurance business. The company has recently benefited from strong demand in commercial risk and reinsurance. This transaction follows a previous major expansion where Aon acquired NFP for about $13 billion. The acquisition would also represent a significant realization for private-equity firm KKR, which is the largest shareholder of USI Insurance. KKR has faced pressure to return capital to investors following a period of slow dealmaking. The deal is expected to contribute to Aon's earnings per share as early as 2028.
