L3Harris CEO Chris Kubasik is ousted after an independent probe finds he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with an employee.
L3Harris Technologies CEO Chris Kubasik stepped down from his role and the company board following an independent investigation into his conduct. The board determined that Kubasik's actions were inconsistent with the company's values and code of conduct, though the company did not specify the exact nature of the behavior. The investigation was conducted by an outside law firm and concluded recently. L3Harris stated that the matter was unrelated to the company's financial reporting, controls, customer relationships, or operational performance. Following the separation agreement, Sam Mehta was appointed as the new president and CEO, while Lewis Hay III was named independent chairman. Kubasik previously served as a candidate to become the CEO of Lockheed Martin before being fired in 2012 for a similar incident involving a personal relationship with a subordinate. He joined L3 Corporation in 2015 and became CEO in 2018, eventually leading the merger that created L3Harris. L3Harris shares fell 3% following the announcement.
