Explosions at a Bolivian military barracks in Viacha kill at least two people and injure dozens of others.

At least two people were killed and dozens of people were injured following two explosions at a military barracks in the city of Viacha, Bolivia, on Friday. The blasts occurred at a military facility used to store pyrotechnic material, approximately 30 kilometers from the capital, La Paz. Defense Minister Ernesto Justiniano said the explosions occurred at the RAM-2 "Bolívar" General Maintenance Center. He noted that no weaponry was detonated during the incident. Health official Rita Nebraska reported that the death toll could be between 10 and 15 people, while police spokesman Roger Roca stated that seven people remain missing. The explosions damaged dozens of nearby homes and shattered windows in the surrounding area. Firefighters warned of a remaining heat source at the site, urging residents to stay at least 150 meters away due to the risk of further explosions. President Rodrigo Paz expressed his sympathy for the victims and ordered a thorough investigation into the causes of the incident and safety protocol compliance.
