Glenwood Earl Pysher IV killed by police after mistakenly arriving at the wrong house in Upper Pottsgrove Township

Glenwood Earl Pysher IV, a 22-year-old college student, was fatally shot by an Upper Pottsgrove Township police officer after mistakenly arriving at the wrong residence. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23, following a 911 call reporting a possible burglary in progress. According to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office, Pysher was found at the rear of the home and was struck by two shots to the chest. Family members stated that Pysher had been out celebrating a friend's birthday and took a wrong turn, arriving at a house he believed was his friend's. His mother, Erin Pysher, noted that he was unarmed, carrying only a cellphone and a backpack. His father, Glenwood Pysher Sr., noted that Pysher had just realized he was at the wrong address and was waiting for friends to arrive when the police arrived. The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office is currently leading the investigation. While the coroner ruled the death a homicide, the office has not yet determined if any charges will be filed against the officer.
