Heat Advisories Remain in Effect as High Temperatures and Humidity Persist Through Saturday
Heat advisories are in effect through Saturday evening as high pressure keeps temperatures high across several regions. In the Ozarks, temperatures will reach the middle 90s to near 100° each afternoon through the weekend, with humidity making feels-like temperatures range between 100° and 107°. In Maryland, highs will reach the lower to middle 90s on Thursday and remain near 90° on Friday. Tropical humidity will persist through Friday, though a strong cold front is expected to cross the state by late Friday. This front will bring more comfortable air from the north and northwest, leading to a spectacular Saturday with sunshine and highs in the low to mid 80s. Upstate regions will see highs in the mid 90s through Friday, with heat indices exceeding 100. Mountain regions will experience temperatures around 90° with spotty afternoon showers. A cold front arriving for the weekend will bring higher chances for showers and thunderstorms starting Saturday, and pull temperatures back down to the 80s for Sunday and Monday.
