Gabriel Fernando Cubillos Valencia Indicted for Alleged Responsibility in Deaths of Four Patients Following Aesthetic Procedures
The National Fiscal General of the Nation has indicted Gabriel Fernando Cubillos Valencia for his alleged involvement in the deaths of four patients and severe physical injuries to three others following aesthetic procedures in Bogotá. The investigation, led by the Life Unit of the Bogotá Secctional, found that the doctor promoted his services through social media since 2022, offering surgical packages with significant discounts. Authorities noted that several patients were transferred to facilities that lacked the necessary medical protocols and standards. Evidence gathered by the Technical Investigation Corps included blank consent forms and medical records featuring signatures of specialists who never actually treated the patients. The doctor did not accept the charges and remains in the judicial process while maintaining the presumption of innocence. The indictment covers crimes of homicide by simple fault and personal injuries. Despite the legal scrutiny, Cubillos Valencia continues to promote his cosmetic surgery services on social media, even as the National Superintendency of Health previously ordered the temporary closure of some of his clinics due to lack of authorization and operational risks.
