Authorities arrest Juan Pedro N following car bomb attack in Zacatecas
Authorities in Zacatecas have arrested Juan Pedro N, a 29-year-old man from Aguascalientes, following a car bomb attack on a municipal police command center in Ojocaliente. The arrest occurred during a security operation in Piedra Gorda, Cuauht茅moc, where the suspect attempted to flee and threw studless tires at security forces. During the pursuit, officials seized a Nissan vehicle, several handmade explosives, a fragmentation grenade, 22 studless tires, five magazines, and various drugs including marijuana, methamphetamine, and cocaine. Rodrigo Reyes, the Secretary General of Government, confirmed the arrest and attributed the attack to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel. The administration announced that a state central committee will be created to support security efforts in Ojocaliente. President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo addressed the event during a morning conference, though she avoided specific details regarding the criminal group's involvement. Sheinbaum stated that more direct information will be provided on Friday during her visit to Zacatecas to meet with the Security Cabinet.
