The Mexican Navy rescued two fishermen, aged 53 and 32, who survived five days adrift in the Pacific Ocean with no food or water. The men were located approximately 150 miles off the coast of Chiapas, Mexico, after their fishing vessel, the Camaronera, lost contact with them on August 14. Rescuers deployed surface and air assets to locate the men, who were found bobbing in a large turquoise fishing cooler. After being hoisted to safety, the fishermen underwent medical evaluations and were airlifted to port. The Mexican Navy stated that the rescue operation demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding human life at sea. The men were eventually reunited with their families after receiving medical attention.
