Keisha Monique Epps and Tamra Marshon Stewart face charges for confining four children in a truck for six years

Florida authorities have charged Keisha Monique Epps and Tamra Marshon Stewart with multiple counts of child abuse and neglect after the pair allegedly kept four children confined in the sleeper cab of a commercial truck for over six years. Between January 2020 and April 2026, Epps, a commercial truck driver, traveled routes between Atlanta and Miami while the children lived in the truck's cab. Investigators reported that the four children, ranging in age from five to nine, were forced to share a single bunk and were frequently denied adequate food, hygiene, schooling, and medical care. Two of the children suffered untreated burns that resulted in permanent scarring, and one child was diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection after being removed from the women's custody. The two girls reported years of sexual abuse by Stewart, who admitted to three sexual batteries against one of the girls. The two boys reported being beaten after confronting Stewart or reporting the abuse to Epps. Epps was charged with four counts of failing to report child abuse, as she allegedly witnessed the abuse but failed to act. Both women face numerous charges, including sexual battery by a person in custodial authority and child neglect causing permanent disfigurement.
