Jim Farley reveals new midsize electric pickup truck named the Ford Fathom

Ford Motor Co. CEO Jim Farley shared new footage and photos of the company's upcoming midsize electric pickup truck, the Ford Fathom. The vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in early 2027, with production beginning at the Louisville Assembly plant in Kentucky. Jim Farley noted that the team conducted hot weather testing in the desert and took a detour through Las Vegas to share the new name. The Ford Fathom will start at a price of $28,350 for the standard-range version, which includes a $1,595 delivery fee when added to the base price. The truck is expected to offer more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4 and will feature a truck bed, a front trunk, and seating for five adults. Key features of the Ford Fathom include a large touchscreen display, bidirectional charging capabilities, a digital key, and Ford's BlueCruise hands-free driving technology. It will also be the first vehicle to have Apple Maps integrated directly into the navigation system. Ford aims to sell more than 100,000 units of the Fathom in its first year of production.
