Terry Moran admits ABC News is a liberal institution due to a lack of viewpoint diversity

Former ABC News correspondent Terry Moran admitted that his longtime network was a liberal institution, primarily because it lacked political viewpoint diversity. Moran noted that during his tenure, almost no one in the newsroom had voted for President Trump, which hindered the network's ability to understand his supporters. Moran attempted to challenge the prevailing liberal perspective by sending internal emails urging colleagues to be fair to President Trump. However, the administration announced that ABC News would not renew his contract in June 2025 after he published a post describing President Trump and Stephen Miller as "world-class haters." While Moran claimed his work was "excruciatingly fair," Media Research President David Bozell criticized the assessment, noting that Moran spent years as an enthusiastic practitioner of the network's liberal bias. Bozell argued that Moran was not an innocent observer of the bias, but rather a contributor to it.
