Julie Hanway Molina arrested for allegedly defrauding Aliso Niguel High School football booster club of over $400,000

Julie Hanway Molina, 56, was arrested at her home in Aliso Viejo on Thursday following a federal indictment alleging she defrauded the Wolverine Football Club, a nonprofit organization supporting Aliso Niguel High School. The indictment charges Molina with four counts of wire fraud for allegedly misappropriating a total of $411,761.54 between 2023 and November 2025. Prosecutors allege that Molina, a professional CPA, diverted funds from the organization's bank account to pay for her personal mortgage and credit card bills. Specifically, the indictment details that she wired approximately $131,523 from the organization's account in Laguna Hills through Federal Reserve facilities in New Jersey and Texas to a mortgage company in Santa Ana. To conceal these unauthorized payments, Molina allegedly emailed falsified treasurer reports to the organization's board members. Molina pleaded not guilty and was released on a $10,000 bond. If convicted, she faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison for each count. The Wolverine Football Club stated they have cooperated fully with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
