Frontier Airlines to Conclude Operations at New York JFK Airport on October 5

Frontier Airlines will officially end all flight operations at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on October 5. The Denver-based, ultra-low-cost carrier will conclude its two-year presence at the airport, which began in June 2024. Earlier this year, Frontier Airlines reduced its JFK network from eight nonstop destinations to a single daily route to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL). The airline confirmed that this Atlanta service will be the final remaining route from JFK. The decision to exit the airport was influenced by several factors, including high operating costs, market demand, and seasonality. While Frontier Airlines is leaving JFK, the carrier will maintain its presence in the New York metropolitan area by continuing to operate from LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). From LaGuardia, the airline serves destinations such as Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, and Orlando. From Newark, it serves Atlanta, Dallas Fort Worth, and Orlando. The airline stated that it will continue to evaluate market conditions to consider a potential return to JFK in the future. Passengers who booked travel on flights that are cut as part of the network shake-up are entitled to a full refund to the original form of payment if they are unsatisfied with rebooking options.
