Ukrainian forces confirm destruction of Russian Ka-27 helicopter and MiG-29 fighter jet
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the destruction of a Russian Ka-27 helicopter near the Yeysk airfield in Krasnodar Krai on August 30, 2026. Additionally, Ukrainian forces confirmed the destruction of a MiG-29 fighter jet near the Millerovo airfield in Rostov Oblast on August 27, 2026. Over the past several days, Ukrainian units have conducted a series of strikes against Russian military targets. On September 1 and overnight into September 2, Ukrainian forces struck an ammunition depot in Volodymyrivka and a logistics depot in Ocheretyne, both located in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian forces also struck a concentration of weapons and military equipment in Rechytsa, Bryansk Oblast. On September 2 and the night of September 2-3, Ukrainian forces struck a BK-16 landing craft and a Krasukha-4 electronic warfare system in Sevastopol, Crimea. Other targets included a UAV command post near Mariine, a UAV depot in Zhelanne, and an ammunition depot near Ilovaisk. Ukrainian forces also struck facilities at the Vostochnyi training ground in Novopetrivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
