German broker Scalable Capital introduces first European bank AI agent integration for portfolio analysis and trading.

Scalable Capital, a German retail investing platform, has launched a new feature allowing clients to use third-party AI agents like ChatGPT and Claude to manage their investment portfolios. This move makes Scalable Capital the first European bank to embed AI in this manner, providing customers with the ability to communicate with their accounts through conversational interfaces. Erik Podzuweit, the founder and co-chief executive of Scalable Capital, stated that this is a preliminary step before the firm eventually integrates these tools directly into its own app. The new system uses the model context protocol to link financial data with external AI models, enabling agents to make automatic buy and sell orders, monitor price alerts, and generate visualisations. While the integration offers increased convenience, it requires additional security measures to ensure that customers do not lose control over their data when interacting with third-party models. The platform also supports command line interface access for developers to create custom scripts and automation.
