Sarah Lindsay Santiago faces murder charges for aiding and abetting two teenage gunmen in San Diego mass shooting

She also provided the gunmen with the hate-filled patches they wore during the event and published their manifesto following the attack. District Attorney Jim O'Neill stated that Santiago will be tried as an adult due to the terrorism-related nature of the crime. Law enforcement officials noted that Santiago had multiple opportunities to report the shooting before it occurred but failed to do so. The attack took place on May 18 at the mosque in the Clairemont neighborhood. The two shooters, dressed in camouflage, opened fire on the mosque before taking their own lives in a nearby car. Security guard Amin Abdullah, mosque caretaker Mansour Kaziha, and neighbor Nadir Awad were killed during the shooting. Abdullah's actions were credited with slowing the shooters and preventing them from advancing on a nearby school with 140 students sheltering in place. Santiago is scheduled to appear in a North Carolina court on September 21.
