Rep. Brandon Gill Accuses McKinsey & Company of Injecting Illegal Diversity Initiatives into the U.S. Economy

Rep. Brandon Gill, a rising star in the House GOP, has launched a new probe into McKinsey & Company to address the influence of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) reports on the U.S. economy. Gill argues that the consulting firm's reports, which suggest that race- and gender-based hiring practices are beneficial, may actually violate the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In a letter sent Monday, Gill noted that the administration announced a 2026 White House Economic Report stating that DEI initiatives cost the U.S. economy approximately $94 billion in 2023. He further questioned the legitimacy of McKinsey's findings, noting that other researchers have found little to be no statistical correlation between a company's diversity and its financial performance. Gill criticized the firm for pushing illegal racial and sex-based targets into corporate policies while Americans struggle with rising costs of living. He also highlighted the Smithsonian Institution's recent hearings, where he led a panel investigating the politicized version of American history being taught at the museum.
