Gary McClatchy reports theft of 800 barrels of Guinness from Runcorn industrial estate

Detective Sergeant Gary McClatchy of the Cheshire Constabulary reported that thieves stole more than 800 barrels of Guinness from a packaging warehouse at the Whitehouse Industrial Estate in Runcorn, England. The theft occurred on Monday night, with two separate trucks arriving at the Aston Lane location during a two-hour period to haul away the stout. Each truck connected to a white tri-axle curtain-side trailer featuring GXO branding. The stolen beer, which was destined for local pubs, is valued at approximately £115,000 ($155,000). When including the value of the trailers, the total loss is estimated at £205,000 ($277,000). The first driver, described as a white man with a short dark beard and a beanie, departed toward the Mersey Gateway bridge. The second driver, believed to be a man wearing a cap, headed toward Rainhill and Watkinson Way. Police are seeking the full recovery of the stolen items and have asked the public to review dashcam footage and surveillance video from the area.
