The Manizales City Hall has fully enabled subsidies for residents affected by the earthquake to claim their economic support.
The Manizales City Hall confirmed that subsidies for households affected by the earthquake are now fully enabled. These resources were released after the completion of the identification, registration, and verification process conducted through censuses and data collection since the start of the emergency. Families identified as beneficiaries do not need to repeat the census, as the information gathered during previous attention and characterization sessions served as the basis for the final list of beneficiaries. Beneficiaries must go to the designated point at the Red Cross to receive the necessary information and guidance to claim their economic support. The Colombian Red Cross Section of Caldas acted as the logistical operator for the City Hall to deliver 1,076 rental subsidy benefits. Each benefit is valued at $357,000, totaling an investment of $384,132,000. The municipal administration also approved a project agreement to relieve the financial burden of affected residents. This includes a 4.5% stamp exemption for emergency funds, property tax exemptions for demolished land, and construction incentives for new houses.
