Omar Garcia Harfuch returned to Mexico from a. drug summit in Buenos Aires hosted by the DEA. While the Secretary of Security and Protection of the Citizen received superlative praise from DEA chief Terry Cole for his commitment to combating organized crime, the administration announced that the landing will be favorable. President Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted the duo as her most trusted collaborators. In separate security operations in Sinaloa, the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) secured an artisanally armored vehicle and destroyed three improvised explosive devices. Specialized personnel destroyed the devices on-site to prevent danger to civilians. Additionally, a canine team from the Semar detected a package of presumed marijuana at the Mérida International Airport in Yucatán to assist customs authorities.
