Scarsdale, New York, was identified as the nation's wealthiest suburb based on average household income, according to a recent analysis by the personal finance site MoneyLion. The village recorded an average household income of $612,591 in 2024. It is followed by West University Place, Texas, which ranked second with an average income of $439,594. Financial expert Rudri Patel noted that wealthy suburbs often feature high-quality schools and limited housing supplies, though they can also be magnets for white-collar crimes like identity theft. The analysis, which used the 2024 American Community Survey, ranked suburbs with at least 5,000 households. New Jersey also features prominently in the rankings, with five towns making the top 50 list. These include Westfield, Summit, Tenafly, Ridgewood, and Princeton. In these communities, home values frequently exceed $1 million, with Summit boasting the highest average home value among the New Jersey entries.
