The Mayor's Office of Bogotá and the Colombian Red Cross have mobilized 1,337 tons of humanitarian aid across 109 shipments to six major affected zones, including Pereira, Quibdó, Cali, Buenaventura, Armenia, and Manizales. This response follows the earthquake that struck on August 10, 2026. According to the reports, Buenaventura received the largest volume of aid, totaling 65 tons, followed by Pereira with 53 tons. The Bogotá Food Bank has also contributed significantly, delivering 324 tons of products to various municipalities, including Chocó and Palmira. The reception of donations at the primary pickup points in Bogotá and Cundinamarca will conclude on Sunday, August 17, at 12:00 pm. Authorities emphasize that while the immediate response is is transitioning, recovery actions will continue as a long-term process.
