Leynner Alexander Legarda Omar, a 35-year-old merchant known as 'El Timbalero,' was killed in a shooting at the Fedecafé commercial center in Barranquilla on Friday morning. The victim was shot multiple times by an armed man who entered the mobile phone accessory shop and fired repeatedly. Legarda Omar died at the scene due to the severity of the injuries. Authorities confirmed that the perpetrator, Jair de Jesúñs Anaya De La Hoz, was captured by police officers shortly after the crime. The 27-year-old suspect, who has a judicial record for theft from 2017 and 2025, fled toward the Museum of Modern Art building but was apprehended by a rapid response team. Police are currently investigating the motive behind the murder to provide further clarity on the context of the crime.
