on Tuesday after a 17-year-old girl called 911 for help. Upon arrival, officers found the toddler being given CPR by the teenager. The boy was subsequently taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead at 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the Will County Coroner's Office, a Wednesday autopsy revealed the child's death was the result of an apparent homicide. Frankfort police believe the death was domestic-related and are investigating the matter with the Will Grundy Major Crimes task force. While the toddler was being treated, officers found the child's mother in the home attempting to harm herself. She was taken to a local hospital with injuries. The Illinois Department of Child and Family Services has joined the investigation, noting they had no prior contact with the family until Tuesday.
