Russian forces deploy novel acoustic drone tactic to monitor and control key roads in Ukraine

Russian forces are utilizing a new drone tactic to monitor key roads and contested "gray zones" in Ukraine by landing drones near routes and using acoustic sensors to detect passing vehicles. This method allows drones to remain concealed and conserve power, as they do not require a direct line of sight to the road. When a vehicle is detected, the operator can either use the drone itself to strike the target or alert other weapon systems, such as artillery, to engage.
