Mo Zohourian transitioned from a traditional sales management career to becoming a specialist in AI training and evaluation. After moving to Canada from Iran in 2023, Zohourian initially took a low-paying AI training role to bridge the gap while searching for full-time employment. By leveraging his 15 years of experience in sales, he eventually secured high-stakes projects paying $100 per hour. Zohourian currently balances his work as a freelance AI evaluator with his own businesses, including an AI consultancy for small businesses and the Annotation Academy, an educational platform for AI training. He noted that while AI training was initially a transition job, it provided the flexibility to set his own schedule and reinvest profits into his ventures. He emphasized that the demand for domain expertise is currently high, allowing him to achieve faster career advancement than he did in traditional sales.
