Abelardo De La Espriella convenes Security Council following car bomb attack in Los Patios

President Abelardo De La Espriella convened a Security Council meeting with the top management of the Public Force to address a terrorist car bomb attack in Los Patios, a municipality in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta. The explosion occurred at approximately 11:10 to 11:15 p.m. and struck the local police station, leaving one person dead and several others injured. Reports indicate that two police officers were injured, with one suffering a leg mutilation, while at least nine civilians were wounded by the shockwave. The blast caused significant structural damage to the police station and destroyed several vehicles and motorcycles parked nearby. President Abelardo De La Espriella stated that the state will pursue those who attack Colombians with an iron hand until they are captured and their structures are dismantled. Authorities have offered a reward of 50 million pesos to identify the perpetrators. Investigators are currently analyzing evidence and security cameras to clarify the details of the violent act.
