The National Electoral Institute approves the new emblem for the Somos party after removing the map of Mexico.
The National Electoral Institute (INE) approved the new emblem for the Somos party, which features pink letters. The institute rejected a supplementary logo that featured white letters on a pink background, as the pink color was deemed too dominant and risked causing confusion with the Fuerza por México party. This decision follows a ruling by the Federal Electoral Power Judicial Tribunal (TEPJF), which mandated that the Somos party remove the silhouette of the Mexico map from its emblem because the map is considered a national identity element rather than a party-specific one. The Somos party representatives, including Marco Baños, argued that the tribunal's decision to require a new graphic identity only six days before the electoral process began was an excessive intervention. The Somos party's emblem was one of the two new organizations to receive national registration. The approval of the new logo was met with support from Luis Ignacio Zavala of the Movement Ciudadano (MC) party, who noted that while the authorities intervened in the graphic identity of the Somos party, the electoral authorities should focus on balancing equality and equity in electoral processes.
