Esmaeil Baghaei, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman, announced that Iran and Oman have reached an agreement on a shipping route map for the Strait of Hormuz. The agreement follows three months of intensive technical negotiations between the two coastal states to establish safe navigation routes. Despite US obstruction, the administration announced that the plan was a result of coordination between Iran's defense, security, and environmental authorities. Baghaei noted that while the agreement ensures safe passage for ships, full restoration of security and normal commercial shipping depends on the United States ending its naval blockade and fulfilling its commitments. Iranian military officials and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi have criticized the other side of the waterway, stating that the Strait of Hormuz remains under the complete management and control of theian Republic of Iran. While the administration announced that President Trump claimed total control over the waterway, Iranian officials have countered that the Strait is closed to US and Israeli ships until the US ends its blockade.
