The Jerusalem governorate also condemned the action as a dangerous escalation and a violation of the mosque's existing historical and legal status. The Palestinian presidency warned that the repeated incursions and the performance of Talmudic rituals are part of a systematic policy by the Israeli government to impose new realities and establish Israeli control over the site, potentially leading to a religious war.
