The IDF captured a 16-year-old terrorist who stabbed a 24-year-old off-duty soldier in the West Bank.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) apprehended a 16-year-old teenager who stabbed a 24-year-old off-duty soldier in the West Bank near Jericho. The victim, an ultra-Orthodox Jew from Betar Illit, was moderately wounded in the attack and has been evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem for treatment. Shlomo Hanaya, the victim's brother, described the incident as a miracle, noting that his brother was standing outside the car while his family was inside when the attack occurred. The soldier was vacationing in the area with his family and had stopped to shop at a complex near the village of Al-Auja. Security forces, including the Duvdevan undercover counter-terror unit and military aircraft, were deployed to a few hours after the attack to conduct a search. The IDF established blockades on nearby roads and is currently investigating the scene. Hamas praised the attack, citing it as a response to settler violence and the desecration of Al-Aqsa.
