Israeli forces and settlers shot dead two teenagers in al-Mughayyir village during a livestock dispute

Israeli soldiers and settlers entered the village of al-Mughayyir in the occupied West Bank, resulting in the deaths of two teenagers. Khalil Abu Alia, 16, and Omar al-Nassan, 19, were shot while residents protested the seizure of sheep by a group of settlers. The military stated that the forces responded by firing at key instigators to remove the threat when Palestinians resisted the seizure of the livestock. This incident occurred as the village faces an intensifying siege. Since late 2023, Israeli barricades have blocked most roads into al-Mughayyir, and at least eight settler outposts surround the village. Residents reported that settlers have also demanded money from those entering and exiting the village, while the military has restricted access to farmlands. In a separate development, Israeli troops demolished the homes of 12 Palestinian families in the community of Khirbet al-Taban. The community was wiped off the map as part of enforcement activity against illegal construction in a military training zone. This move left 70 residents, including 28 children, homeless.
