Jaime Andrés Uribe Tamayo Appointed Manager of the Miracle Fund to Lead Reconstruction Efforts Following Recent Earthquake

The administration announced the appointment of Jaime Andrés Uribe Tamayo as the manager of the 'Fondo Milagro' (Miracle Fund). He will be responsible for administering resources and coordinating the reconstruction plan for the most affected zones following the 7.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred on August 10th. Uribe Tamayo, an Antioquian entrepreneur and former president of ProColombia, was confirmed in his new role by Interior Minister Rodrigo Lara. Uribe Tamayo will lead the collection and structuring of information to determine intervention needs and priorities. In Cali, the administration is currently transitioning from immediate emergency response to a recovery phase. The Miracle Fund serves as the primary vehicle for channeling resources donated by businesses, companies, and foreign governments to rebuild the damaged infrastructure. The administration aims to ensure that the reconstruction process is not just a replacement of what was lost, but a regenerative upgrade for the territories affected by the disaster.
