José Fernando Patiño calls for collective empathy and psychological healing for Cali residents following a major earthquake.

Journalist José Fernando Patiño has launched a proposal for a "collective hug" to address the psychological and spiritual wounds caused by a recent earthquake in Cali. After losing his father in the disaster, Patiño emphasized that while material reconstruction is underway, the city needs to help residents rebuild their internal lives. He urged psychologists, spiritual leaders, and the private sector to join a collective effort to heal the "soul cracks" of the community.\n Simultaneously, the local government is providing practical relief to families displaced by the quake. The Secretariat of Risk Management has organized excursions to locations such as the Cali Zoo and Racamandapa to provide psychosocial support for families staying in hotels. These outings aim to offer recreation for children and emotional relief for adults, helping residents move past the difficult moment. Residents like Esteban Oliveros and Diana Patricia Ruiz Solís expressed gratitude for the hotel accommodations and the outings, noting that the transition from shelters to hotels has provided a sense of security and comfort during the recovery process.
