Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis Orders the Administration to Reveal Architects of Defunct Anti-Weaponization Fund

Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis ordered the administration to disclose the architects and organization of a $1.8 billion anti-weaponization fund. The fund was designed to compensate individuals who felt unfairly targeted by government lawfare, including Jan. 6 rioters who were convicted and later pardoned by President Trump. The fund was established as part of a settlement between President Trump, his sons, and the Internal Revenue Service. The agreement also shielded the president and his family from future tax audits. Although Attorney General Todd Blanche stated the fund is dead and rescinded it in writing, the order did not include the original signatories. This omission leaves the possibility that the administration could revive the fund in the future. Democracy Forward, a nonprofit organization, is currently suing the government on behalf of a fired prosecutor and a college professor. Aman George, senior counsel at Democracy Forward, stated that the judge's order is a significant step in investigating the slush fund. While Attorney General Todd Blanche said the fund is dead, President Trump expressed that he wishes it were not, noting that people were horribly treated.
