Juliana Guerrero accepts responsibility for fraud after presenting fake academic titles to secure a viceministry position

Juliana Guerrero accepted responsibility for a crime of fraud in a judicial court in Bogot¡. The young woman admitted to presenting fake documents at the System of Information and Management of Public Employment in September 2025 while aspiring to become the vice-minister of Youth. She presented certificates for titles such as technology in Accounting and Taxation and professional in Public Accounting, which were issued by the Fundación Universitaria San José. As part of a pre-agreement with the General Prosecutor of the Nation, Juliana Guerrero will serve a sentence of three years of prison. Her role in the crime was downgraded from author to accomplice. The agreement also includes a fine equivalent to 100 minimum monthly salaries and a disqualification from holding public office for two and a half years. Former official Jorge Rojas stated that President Gustavo Petro was complacent regarding the warnings about the woman's proximity to the administration's entourage. Senator Isabel Zuleta, a defender of the administration, noted that the case highlights the importance of justice for everyone and the impact of personal ambition on the youth.
