Tropical Storm Karina has officially strengthened into a Hurricane Category 1 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Mexico. The storm is currently moving west-northwest at a speed of 20 km/h, maintaining maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h and a central pressure of 980 millibars. Meteorological authorities, including the National Hurricane Center and the National Meteorological Service, confirmed that the storm remains far from the continental territory. Because the cyclone is located over open sea and is not a direct threat to Mexico, no coastal warnings or special recommendations have been issued. The storm is projected to intensify further, potentially reaching Category 3 by midday on Sunday, August 30. Despite the increasing wind speeds and high seas, the system will continue to moving deeper into the ocean, ensuring that the humidity flow will not touch the continent's coastlines or the interior of the Republic.
