Hurricane Lowell causes widespread damage across Hawaii, leaving Kauai residents to assess recovery efforts

Hurricane Lowell passed the Hawaiian Islands as a Category 2 hurricane, causing widespread damage across the state. The storm brought damaging winds, heavy rain, and high surf, resulting in at least two deaths in connection with the storm. On Kauai, the hurricane caused downed trees, debris, and widespread power outages, leaving over 15,000 electricity customers without power.
