Authorities Prosecute Eight Suspects for the Murder of Professor Kevin Santiago Ángel
The Prosecutor's Office has presented details regarding the murder of professor and community leader Kevin Santiago Ángel in Bogotá. Authorities have prosecuted eight suspected members of the 'Tren de Aragua' criminal group for their alleged involvement in the crime. The investigation suggests that the murder was linked to the social work performed by Kevin Santiago Ángel, who worked to distance young people from drug consumption and criminal recruitment. Investigations revealed that Gacelis Nairoby Sojo Lira, known as 'Alondra', served as bait to lure the professor to a location where he was killed and tortured. Evidence from the professor's phone, including messages and bank transfers, helped reconstruct the events leading up to the security breach. The order to commit the murder was allegedly given by Osmer Josué Castillo Urbaneja, a leader of the 'Tren de Aragua' who is currently detained in La Dorada prison. The eight suspects are facing charges of aggravated homicide, torture, and conspiracy to commit a crime. While the jury has not yet reached a final verdict, the suspects maintain the presumption of innocence as the judicial process continues.
