L3Harris Technologies Appoints Sam Mehta as CEO Following the Ouster of Chris Kubasik

L3Harris Technologies has appointed Sam Mehta as the company's new President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Chris Kubasik. The administration announced that the board of directors moved to enter into a separation agreement with Kubasik after an investigation determined he engaged in conduct inconsistent with the company's values. While the company did not specify the exact nature of the conduct, reports indicate it may involve an inappropriate relationship with an employee. Mehta, who previously served as President of the Space & Mission Systems and Communications & Spectrum Dominance segments, was selected for his deep knowledge of the company's business and culture. The board also named Lewis Hay III as the independent chairman of the board. The news of Kubasik's departure caused L3Harris shares to fall by more than 4%. The company's ouster of Kubasik is unrelated to financial reporting or operational performance. L3Harris remains contracted by the administration to overhaul the Qatari Air Force One, a project that has also seen the company expand its maritime production facilities in Rhode Island.
