Juliana Londoño Villa Reports Distribution of 22,900 Humanitarian Kits to Earthquake Victims in Manizales

The municipal administration of Manizales has distributed 22,900 humanitarian kits to families affected by the August 10 earthquake. Juliana Londoño Villa, the social guardian of Manizales, stated that the kits include food, hygiene, children's, and night packages. She noted that the composition of the kits will vary as inventory levels change and new donations are received. Distribution is being managed from the Coliseo Menor, where volunteers organize and deliver the items. The administration announced that aid will continue until all products are exhausted. In addition to the kits, the city has allocated $2 billion in resources for the demolition of buildings at imminent risk of collapse. The Albania building was the first horizontal property demolished following the emergency. Heavy machinery began dismantling the building at 46A, located behind La Presentacion Clinic, on September 7. The earthquake resulted in 6 fatalities and 211 injuries, affecting approximately 12,000 people and damaging 11,500 houses.
