Claudia Sheinbaum defends Mexico's abstention on Nicaragua resolution and announces new cargo vehicle model
President Claudia Sheinbaum defended Mexico's decision to abstain from the Organization of American States (OEA) resolution regarding Nicaragua, citing constitutional principles of self-determination. Sheinbaum noted that the decision was based on the Mexican Constitution rather than personal agreement, emphasizing that the people's right to self-determination is clearly established. During a press conference, Claudia Sheinbaum also provided updates on the capture of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel's regional leader's daughter and requested clarification from the General Prosecutor's Office regarding the detention of "El Mayo" Zambada by the United States. She further announced the launch of the Olinia model 2, a cargo vehicle designed for industrial and commercial capacity. The administration announced a public call for national and international companies to partner in the electric mobility project. Additionally, Claudia Sheinbaum expressed her opposition to restoring medical insurance privileges for the Supreme Court staff, arguing that public resources should be used efficiently. She also noted that Mexico's economy remains solid despite the international changes resulting from the tariffs imposed by President Trump.
