While hundreds of people gathered outside the Plymouth Superior Court to support Clancy, Mandel noted that very few people seem to recognize the names of the three children—Cora, Dawson, and Callan—who were strangled at the family home in January 2023. Defense attorneys argue that Lindsay Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the deaths, while prosecution experts suggest her actions were methodical and organized. Jonathan Hatami, a deputy district attorney, agreed with Mandel, stating that the trial has become a show about the defendant rather than the victims. The trial is currently moving toward closing arguments, with a verdict of not-guilty by reason of insanity would result in a state psychiatric hospital commitment rather than a full release.
