Lindsay Clancy faces murder trial as supporters advocate for mental health recognition in Plymouth, Massachusetts

Lindsay Clancy is currently on trial for the first-degree murder of her three children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, in their Duxbury home. The defense argues that Clancy should not be held criminally responsible because she suffered from postpartum psychosis and bipolar disorder. While the prosecution alleges that Clancy planned the killings and contrived a suicide attempt, the defense highlights that Clancy heard a male voice in her head ordering her to kill her children. During the trial, a chaplain testified that Clancy expressed relief that her children were safe in heaven. Hundreds of supporters gathered outside the courthouse to advocate for better postpartum healthcare. If convicted, Clancy faces life in prison without parole; however, if found not criminally responsible, she will be sent to a state psychiatric hospital. The trial is expected to conclude with closing arguments early next week.
