National Guard Locates Two Missing Minors, Jeremi V. and Dominic M., in Sinaloa After Forced Recruitment by Organized Crime

The National Guard located two missing minors, Jeremi V. and Dominic M., in Sinaloa on Friday, August 21st. Both boys, who were reported missing in Jalisco since July 15th, were found alive and well by federal and state authorities. Indira Navarro Lugo, a representative of the Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco collective, stated that the minors were being recruited by organized crime groups in a Sinaloa zone. She argued that the Jalisco state fiscalia confirmed the location of the boys, which resulted from coordinated actions between federal and state authorities. Navarro Lugo highlighted the importance of institutions working together without disputes over who should attribute the rescue. While the Jalisco state fiscalia has not yet officially confirmed the forced recruitment, they are investigating the details of the city's youth recruitment phenomenon. The minors currently remain under the authority's protection in Sinaloa while awaiting transfer back to Jalisco.
