Raquel Guerrero dies after suffering severe head injuries during a violent armed robbery in Bucaramanga
Raquel Guerrero, an 84-year-old woman, passed away on Saturday, August 22nd, after spending nearly a month in critical condition at the Chicamocha Clinic. Her death followed a violent fall during an armed robbery in Bucaramanga that occurred on July 10th. While near her home, Raquel Guerrero was approached from behind by a motorcyclist who attempted to steal her belongings using a 'raponazo' method. The struggle caused her to lose her balance and suffer a severe traumatic craniocerebral injury with an intracranial hemorrhage. Authorities used security camera footage to identify the motorcycle and eventually located the suspect, Juan Carlos Ortiz Flórez. He was apprehended in the Bavaria II neighborhood with a pistol in his possession. Juan Carlos Ortiz Flórez has a significant criminal record, including previous convictions for qualified theft and narcotics trafficking. Following Raquel Guerrero's death, the case continues under investigation, and the accused perpetrator now faces homicide charges.
