Bari Weiss is currently in negotiations to recruit Chris Cuomo to CBS News. The head of CBS News, who took over the network's leadership after a merger with a MAGA-friendly parent company, is reportedly enraptured by the Cuomo's broadcasting skills. Chris Cuomo has spent the last two years hosting a nightly show on NewsNation. He was previously fired from CNN in December 2021 after allegations that he helped his brother, Andrew Cuomo, navigate sexual harassment claims. While Bari Weiss is eager to have him join the network, a multi-year contract extension with NewsNation was announced in December 2024, which may complicate the move. The move would potentially place Chris Cuomo on CBS Mornings, a show currently hosted by Gayle King, Nate Burleson, and Vladimir Duthiers. Bari Weiss is also considering Norah O’Donnell as a potential addition to the morning show lineup.
